Photo Tips

A few gentle suggestions for choosing photos you love.

We hand-press every magnet in our Busselton studio — slowly and with care.
Below are some simple ways to choose photos that will feel warm, real, and full of meaning when printed.

Start with the photos that make you smile
Choose the ones that make you pause, breathe, or feel a little softness in your chest. A memory is always more beautiful than a perfect pose.

Look for soft, natural light
The best photos are taken near a window, outside in gentle shade, or on a cloudy day. Soft light feels calm and warm. Try to avoid harsh midday sun or bright flash — they can make faces feel sharp or flat.

Give your photo a little space

Our magnets are 50mm x 50mm — a lovely, small moment held in your hand. Photos with a bit of room around the subject look beautiful at this size. Think: a child in a doorway, a dog in the garden, two people laughing in the kitchen. Let the moment breathe.

Use the original photo when you can
Screenshots often print a little blurry. If possible, upload the original photo from your camera roll. If a screenshot is all you have — that’s okay. Just choose one with soft light and a clear subject.

A little blur or grain is okay
Life moves. People move. Children especially move. We’re not aiming for perfect sharpness — just enough clarity to recognise the moment. If it feels like the memory, it’s the right one.

Everyday is enough

The small, ordinary things often hold the most meaning — a favourite corner of the house, a dog asleep in the sun, a snack shared after school, a hand holding yours. This is where the real magic lives.

You don’t need to get it perfect. You just need to choose the photos that matter to you.
